Oasis Scholarship

The West Bengal OASIS Scholarship 2023 is a merit-cum-means scholarship scheme initiated by the Government of West Bengal to provide financial assistance to students belonging to economically weaker sections of society who are pursuing higher education. The scholarship is aimed at providing financial support to students who face financial constraints and may not be able to afford the cost of education.

The scholarship is open to students studying at different levels of education, including higher secondary, diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate, and other professional courses. The scholarship provides financial assistance to students based on their academic merit and financial need. The scholarship covers the tuition fees, maintenance allowance, and other incidental expenses such as books, stationery, and other study materials.

Necessary Documents Required

Here are the documents needed when you apply for the Oasis SC/ST/OBC Scholarship.

  • Mark sheet of previous qualifying examination
  • Passport-size photo of the candidate
  • West Bengal Domicile Certificate
  • Birth Certificate
  • Income Certificate
  • Caste Certificate
  • Proof of Address
  • Aadhar Card
  • Khadya Sathi Card
  • Bank Passbook
  • Receipt of the Admission Fee

Oasis Scholarship Eligibility

Pre-matric Scholarship for SC Students

  • The applicant should have the State of Origin Certification of SC.
  • Only applicable to students in Class 9th and 10th.
  • The annual family income of the applicant should not be over ₹2 Lakh.

Pre-matric Scholarship for ST Students

  • The applicant should have the State of Origin Certification of ST.
  • Only applicable to students in Class 9th and 10th.
  • The annual family income of the applicant should not be over ₹2 Lakh.

Post-matric Scholarship for SC/ST Students

  • The applicant should have the State of Origin Certification of either SC or ST.
  • Only for the applicant who has enrolled at post-matric education level.
  • The annual family income of the applicant should not be over ₹2.5Lakh.

Post-matric Scholarship for OBC Students

  • The applicant should have the State of Origin Certification of OBC.
  • The applicant should have passed SSC (Secondary School Certificate) Examination.
  • The annual family income of the applicant should not be over ₹1 Lakh.

Oasis Scholarship 2023 Registration

  • Visit the official OASIS Scholarship Application Portal and click on the Student's Registration link to apply as a fresh candidate.
  • Choose your District (where your institution is located) for application. Students who are studying outside West Bengal should select the district of their permanent address.
  • Fill in the required caste certification details: Your Name, Father's Name and Computerised Caste Certificate Number (Manual Certificate will not be accepted) and click on the Submit button.
  • Update basic details like Date of Birth, Sub-Caste, Current Institution Name, Phone Number and Email along with a Scanned Photograph.
  • Then click on Submit button to complete your registration.
  • Download the computer-generated Acknowledgement Slip.
  • The PDF file will contain the Applicant's User ID and Password for future login.

Completion of the Application Form

Visit OASIS Scholarship Application Portal and click on Registered Student's Login link.

Now enter your User ID, Password and District and click on the Login button.

Click on the Further Details button and fill in all the required details like Communication Address, Institution Details etc and save it.

Enter your bank account information: Bank Name, Account Number, IFSC Code and MICR Code. Then click on Verify and Lock option and once lock it you cannot edit these details.

Click on the Print Application button and download the Application Form.

Submission of the Application Form

  • Take a printout of your Application Form and attach the following documents : Stamp-size photograph, Attested copy of the Marksheet or Certificate of the last examination, Attested copy of Caste Certificate, Copy of the first page of your bank passbook.
  • Submit your application form with your signature to your concerned BDO Office (for block area) and PO-cum-DWO (for the corporation and municipality area).

Oasis Scholarship Renewal

Here is the procedure to be followed for quick online renewal of your scholarship application provided by the West Bengal Backward Classes Welfare and Tribal Development Departments.

  • Visit the OASIS Scholarship Application Portal and click on the Renew Scholarship button.
  • Log in with your User ID, Password and Applied District.
  • Check all the details and information provided by you previously. If you wish to update any information, add it and save the changes.
  • Click on Renew Application and then Renew and Lock Application button.
  • Download the Acknowledgement Slip.
  • Now submit this copy with your signature to your concerned BDO Office (for block area) and PO-cum-DWO (for corporation and municipality area).

Oasis Scholarship Status Check

After Applying To The Oasis Scholarship, You Must Check Whether Your Application Has Been Accepted Or Not. By Doing This You Can Know Whether Your Application Has Been Submitted To The Institute, Whether There Are Any Information Errors In The Application And Whether Final Verification Is Pending Or Not Just By Checking The Status. Steps to Check for Oasis Scholarship Status

  • Step 1 : Visit the official website of Oasis Scholarship, oasis.gov.in.
  • Step 2 : Now select the Track Application option.
  • Step 3 : Here select district and click on submit.
  • Step 4 : Now you will be redirected to the application tracking status page.
  • Step 5 : Enter your user ID and session here and then click on check status.
  • Step 6 : Now you can see the current status of your application.
